Is the Schleich 82870 Araber Fohlen Tippi right for your collection? Get clear decision rules on this exclusive magazine foal before you buy.
Quick answer
Buy the Schleich 82870 Araber Fohlen Tippi if you collect Schleich horse foals or want an affordable exclusive Arabian foal figure; skip it if you only collect standard-release horses or need a toy built for heavy play.
What makes this foal different from a standard Schleich horse
The Araber Fohlen Tippi is not a regular catalog horse. It was originally offered as a supplement to the BAYALA magazine, which makes it an exclusive figure rather than a main-line release. That matters for two reasons: availability can be less predictable than a standard horse, and collectors often treat magazine supplements as separate from the main Schleich horse line.
If you are building a focused Arabian or foal collection, this is a sensible addition. If you are buying a first Schleich horse for a child, a standard-release foal is usually easier to replace and less likely to become a display-only piece.
Exclusive status: collectible appeal versus replacement risk
Exclusivity cuts both ways. On the plus side, the 82870 stands out in a herd of standard foals and gives your shelf a story. On the minus side, if the figure is lost or damaged, finding another one may take longer than replacing a current catalog model.
That trade-off should drive your decision more than the price alone. For a collector who keeps figures on a shelf, the exclusive label is a feature. For a household where figures travel in pockets and toy bins, it is a risk.
Scale and compatibility: what the catalog does not tell you
The supplied product information confirms the brand, product name, exclusive magazine-supplement status, and that it belongs to the Schleich horse figurine line. It does not list dimensions, weight, paint finish, or age grading. Do not assume a specific scale or pose from the name alone.
If exact scale matching matters for a diorama, ask the retailer for measurements before ordering. If you are buying for general display alongside other Schleich horses, the line membership is the main compatibility signal you have.
Decision rules for buying the Araber Fohlen Tippi
- If you collect Schleich horse foals: Buy it. The 82870 is a named Arabian foal from the Schleich horse line, and its magazine-supplement status gives it a clear place in a foal-focused collection.
- If you want a play figure for a young child: Choose a standard-release Schleich horse foal instead unless the child already keeps figures on a shelf. The exclusive status makes replacement harder if the figure is lost. Check the child's usual play style before paying a premium for exclusivity.
- If you need exact scale or dimensions: Ask the retailer for measurements first. The catalog information supplied here does not include size, weight, or age grading, so do not guess compatibility with a diorama.
- If you are comparing against other collectible horse figures: Treat the 82870 as a display-oriented exclusive. If you want a horse that is easy to replace and part of a current lineup, a standard Schleich horse is the safer pick.
