Answers to the most common questions about the Schleich 70030 Bogenschütze auf Pferd, from scale and display to gifting and care.
Quick answer
The Schleich 70030 Bogenschütze auf Pferd is a display-worthy medieval archer toy that pairs a mounted bowman with Schleich's signature detail. It suits collectors and older children who treat figures with care, not rough play.
What the catalog tells you — and what it doesn't
The product description emphasizes craftsmanship and storytelling: a knight figure on horseback that combines the majesty of the horse with the precision of an archer. That gives you a clear sense of the figure's character, but it does not list dimensions, material composition, or age grading. If those details matter for your shelf or your child, treat them as open questions rather than assumptions.
Where this figure fits in a collection
Because the catalog does not specify scale, the safest approach is to compare it with Schleich figures you already own. Many Schleich medieval and horse figures share a compatible visual scale, but the 70030 should be checked in person or against the retailer's measurements before you plan a diorama around it. The mounted pose makes it a natural centerpiece rather than a background piece.
Common buyer questions
- Is this a toy or a collectible?
- The catalog presents it as a detailed figure for collectors and enthusiasts, but it does not include an age recommendation. Treat it as a display collectible for older children and adults, and supervise younger children. Check the packaging or retailer listing for an official age grade before buying for a child under six.
- How should I display it?
- The mounted pose is best shown at eye level or slightly below, with the horse's legs fully supported. A flat, stable shelf prevents leaning and keeps the bow arm from catching on neighboring figures.
- Can I use it for play?
- The figure is detailed and should be handled gently. It works for imaginative play with older children who can avoid dropping or bending thin parts, but it is not designed for rough handling. If the child is used to rugged action figures, choose a sturdier toy instead.
- How do I clean it?
- Dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Avoid water and solvents, which can affect painted details. Store it away from direct sunlight to limit fading.
- Is it a good gift?
- For someone who collects Schleich knight figures or medieval archer toys, yes. The mounted archer is a distinctive addition. For a child who prefers vehicles or animals, it may not match their interests. Pair it with a Schleich horse or knight figure to build a scene.
