A quick review of the Schleich 13908 Arabian Mare, covering its quality, details, and suitability for beginners and young collectors.
Quick answer
Yes, the Schleich 13908 Arabian Mare is an excellent starter figure for new collectors or children, thanks to its detailed sculpt, hand-painted finish, and affordable price.
What makes the Arabian Mare a good choice for beginners?
The Schleich Horse Club Arabian Mare features a meticulously braided mane styled into three elegant Spanish braids, which gives it a distinctive look that stands out in any collection. Its realistic sculpt and hand-painted details make it visually appealing without being overly complex.
At a catalog price of USD 6.76 (compared to USD 9.80), it offers good value for someone starting a horse figure collection or adding a first Schleich piece.
Are there any trade-offs to consider?
The figure is a single, static pose, so it does not have movable parts or accessories. For a starter figure, this simplicity is often a plus, but collectors seeking interactive features might prefer other sets.
The Arabian breed is a classic choice, but if the collector prefers a different horse type or a larger set, the single figure may feel limited.
