Learn how to clean, store, and maintain your Schleich cat figure to keep it looking great for years. Simple tips for collectors and kids.
Quick Answer
To keep your Schleich cat figure in great shape, dust it regularly, clean with mild soap and water when needed, and store it away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Why Gentle Cleaning Matters
Schleich figures are hand-painted, so harsh chemicals or scrubbing can damage the finish. Using a soft cloth or brush and mild soap preserves the colors and details.
Avoid submerging the figure in water for long periods, as this can weaken the paint over time. A quick wipe is usually enough.
Storing Your Figure Safely
Direct sunlight can fade the paint, and high heat can warp the plastic. Store your cat figure in a cool, dry place, ideally in a display case or on a shelf away from windows.
If you keep it in a box, make sure the box is clean and dry to prevent dust buildup.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I clean my Schleich cat figure?
- Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn dirt, dampen a cloth with mild soapy water, gently wipe the figure, then dry it immediately with a clean cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or scrub brushes.
- Can I wash the figure with water?
- Yes, but avoid soaking. A quick rinse under lukewarm water is fine, but do not leave the figure in water. Dry it thoroughly right after. Avoid hot water and dishwashers.
- How should I store the figure to prevent damage?
- Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A display case or shelf is ideal. If storing in a box, ensure it is clean and dry. Check periodically for dust or fading.
